CBRM creates vibrating research environment involving multidisciplinary researchers with the ultimate goal for developing innovative biomedical tools and therapeutic technologies.

Dr. Srinivas Madduri heads CBRM in a close collaboration with clinicians and his research interest includes repair and regeneration of peripheral nerves, spinal cord and brain injuries. Towards this endeavour, he has established animal models (rodents and higher mammal) for testing the innovative and newly developed therapies covering bioactive biomaterial, bioengineered cells and tissues. Furthermore, his multidisciplinary expertise and clinical collaboration would foster the preclinical knowledge, new therapeutics and novel technologies into clinical and industrial settings.

Early, Srinivas has worked as a research group leader at ETH Zurich (2012-2015). He received his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Sri Venkateswara University, India (2002-2004) followed by research work (junior scientist) at Indian Institute of Sciences, India (2004-2006). Further, he earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from ETH Zurich (2006-2009) and completed postdoctoral training in stem cells and tissue engineering at University Hospital Zurich (2009-2012). Since 2009, he has been actively teaching for master’s course covering biomaterials and tissue engineering approaches at ETH Zurich.
