Patient-specific Models of Cancer (PMC) Seminar Series
The PMC seminars aim at fostering multidisciplinary interactions and knowledge sharing on the topic of patient-derived models across the cancer research community in Basel and beyond. With these seminars, we expect to provide a unique framework for sharing protocols, data and best practices to accelerate and standardize efforts related to the use of patient-derived models. Themes to be discussed will include introduction to 3D macro- and micro-scale models, methods of characterization (e.g., phenotypic, genomic, and functional analyses), as well as availability and access to validation platforms (e.g., omics, tissue imaging).
The seminars will take place on a quarterly basis and will include two project-focused presentations.
CAS in Personalized Molecular Oncology
The Pathology Basel, together with the Oncology Department of the USB, the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics and the University Hospital of Lausanne, have jointly created a CAS in Personalized Molecular Oncology. This Certificate of Advanced Studies is offered by the Center of Advanced Studies of the University of Basel. The program consists of 4 modules of 4 days each (on-site presential teaching in Basel and Lausanne). Each module is interactive, with lectures alternating with hands-on sessions, group discussions, on-site lab visits, in addition to home readings and assignments.
